Some of the people you work with are moving into work for the first time. How did your own career start?
My passion for people, cultures and good food took me into the hospitality industry for the first part of my career. There, I spent 16 years working in operations, human resources and talent management. That’s where I started to learn about getting the most out of people and helping them to be the best they can be.
What made you set up your own coaching business?
The decision to set up my business was a career change for me (so I understand the position many of my clients are in when they come to me!).
I’d worked in the corporate world for years and had seen many professionals becoming burnt out. I realised that I was heading the same way, so decided I wanted to change direction with my career. It was difficult but also eye-opening. It taught me to see life from different perspectives, to persevere, and that every moment is precious – even the most challenging ones!
You work with different types of people, from students and career professionals, to corporate clients. What can they expect from you?
With all my clients, the aim is to build a relationship which is open, trusting and respectful – this is really important because it helps me to encourage them to embrace their curiosity and to try new things! I’d describe my approach as innovative and creative (I like to ‘think outside the box’) but also constructive and straightforward. It’s a lot of fun, too!
